Moving with confidence, at your own level
Do you have an acquired brain injury (ABI) or another neurological condition? Think of a stroke (CVA), brain haemorrhage, cerebral infarction or traumatic brain injury, but just as much Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or dementia. Exercise can then make an important contribution to your recovery and your day-to-day functioning.
We offer adapted boxing training sessions supervised by a geriatric physiotherapist with expertise in neurological rehabilitation. It’s not about hitting each other: you spar with boxing gloves and pads. That makes it a safe yet challenging form of training, focused on fitness, strength, balance, coordination and reaction speed.
Why boxing training?
Boxing exercises can help you with:
- improving balance and stability
- training coordination and reaction speed
- increasing strength and endurance
- practising concentration and dual tasks
- more self-confidence and enjoyment in moving
- training in a friendly group where everyone understands each other
The sessions are adapted to your abilities and take place in a small group, so there’s enough personal guidance.
Who is the training for?
The training is intended for adults with acquired brain injury or another neurological condition who want to work on their fitness and daily skills in a safe and responsible way. Think of:
- a stroke (CVA), brain haemorrhage or cerebral infarction
- traumatic brain injury or a brain tumour
- Parkinson’s disease
- multiple sclerosis
- dementia
Not sure whether your condition qualifies? That needn’t stop you – feel free to get in touch.
Beforehand, we discuss during an intake whether the training suits your situation and goals.
When and where?
